Learn More and FAQ

We recommend that you watch this video to learn more about our mission and its importance, as well as why we have created this platform. You can also see more detailed information and another video here: spirited.network/about. We very much hope that you can take part in this movement and support our mission.

What is the Spirited Network?

The Spirited Network provides kindness as a service, empowering and coordinating millions around the world who want to volunteer to make a difference in times of crisis. We aim to support those on the frontline and to ensure that nobody is left behind or forgotten by providing help to the most vulnerable people and organisations. These unprecedented and difficult times, when we are all anxious and fearful, call for a response in the spirit of the only universal currency and language there is: kindness. We seek to coordinate and best channel this in the midst of many inspiring but ad hoc and localised efforts around the world (so far we have over 6,000 organisations and 50+ countries in our database). Completely free to use, non-for-profit, and built to make kindness contagious, support viral, and spread compassion, we bring more method to the madness, and provide direction in times of uncertainty, as a more efficient avenue for those who want to help and those in need of help.

We have identified and chosen four key areas to focus on, as a network of efforts, where we found there is most need for volunteers and members of the public to contribute:

  1. Connecting volunteers with vulnerable people and organisations looking for help, providing a more efficient avenue for support in times of uncertainty, so that nobody is left behind
  2. Sourcing and fundraising for masks, life-saving medical devices, and other personal protective equipment (PPE) for medical professionals and those who need it most
  3. A Global Movement to thank and show lasting appreciation for the heroes on the frontline who have dedicated themselves to helping keep us all safe in the face of adversity
  4. Advocacy for longer-term structural improvements that strengthen resilience both to future shocks and other challenges we face, and that lead to important, enduring societal changes, which tackle key inequalities and ruptures, that the crisis has so clearly exposed.

Who has built The Spirited Network?

We are a diverse, mission-driven team of over 100 so far who all work on a voluntary basis and are from a wide range of personal and professional backgrounds, hailing from over 40 different countries. Cross-generational, we have all been brought together by a shared determination to make a positive difference to the lives of others and do our part rather than sit idly by during the most significant crisis in recent times. In this spirit, we built this platform as a response from leading members of communities such as Forbes 30 Under 30, World Economic Forum Global Shapers, ICE, Founders Forum, several United Nations bodies, The Oxford Guild, the Collegium Global Network and the organisations from the top universities it encompasses including Oxbridge, the Russell Group and Ivy League, as well as other pioneers in the medical/healthcare and charitable sectors and the worlds of technology, investment and business. Brought together by Abbas Kazmi, who has written HERE about why what we are doing is important as well as about his personal inspiration HERE, our leadership team has very successfully worked together before in building several other large scale organisations and projects including The Oxford Guild. We are leveraging a huge wealth of combined experience to ensure that together we can help tackle this crisis, by supporting the most vulnerable and ensuring that nobody is left behind or forgotten, making people’s days and offering a shining light in a time of darkness, and aiding those on the frontline, all in order to save lives and improve conditions in these difficult times.

How do I make a submission? How does it work?

It is very simple and can take as little as just a few seconds for you to submit your thank you messages and inspiring stories using our form.

Step 1: Think of what you would like to submit using the form and who it is for. It can be text, photos, videos, audio messages, or a combination of these different types of media. It can be for anyone you like, whether it is particular individuals or the system as a whole.

Step 2: Fill in the form and submit your messages (including any other optional file types such as photos, videos, audio messages etc. that you may wish to include). Whether they are for particular individuals or the system as a whole, we will ensure that your heartwarming messages are sent to different or specific hospitals, organisations, and frontline workers etc. around the world and are shared on our wall of appreciation, which serves as a lasting tribute or digital monument.

Step 3: Once you have clicked submit a pop up will appear confirming that your post has been published. Please share the post with others online using the hashtag #SPIRITEDTHANKS and invite them to see and join you in expressing gratitude and sharing positive stories. We include the ability for you to copy the link or automatically share it by text message, messaging apps like WhatsApp or on social media. We have shown the different sharing links to make it easy for you!

We hope that you complete the above three steps and join us in this solidarity effort, thanking the heroes who have dedicated themselves to helping keep us all safe in the face of adversity. We have built this digital gathering place of positive messages and stories to bring focus to and magnify goodwill globally. We are committed to spreading gratitude. Those protecting us and saving lives deserve all the thanks in the world, so we hope you all participate in this movement and also benefit from coming back to visit the website for uplifting crowdsourced doses of positivity.
